1. Which of the 10 declarations of The Mindful CIO Manifesto resonates the most with you?
I’m particularly drawn to the first declaration.

2. Please elaborate on why you identify the most with this declaration.
I believe that a strong alignment between team culture and individual capabilities is as crucial as technical skills. Our hiring process involves potential team members spending time with existing staff. This isn’t just for our benefit; it’s a two-way street. New team members should feel that they can genuinely see themselves contributing as part of the team.

3. What is your #1 Strategy (or Ritual) for Self-Care?
I’m a strong advocate for developing and maintaining a routine that works for you. My day starts with morning exercise, followed by some time for yoga and meditation in the evening. Additionally, I prioritise doing things that bring me joy, such as writing and spending quality time outdoors with my family.

4. What does Mindful Leadership mean to you?
Mindful Leadership goes beyond the technical aspects of my role. It’s about being present and attuned to the needs of my team members. I aim to lead in a way that brings out the best in everyone by providing the specific support they need to excel at their work.

5. Why do you think The Mindful CIO movement is important? In other words, why have you accepted to become a Champion of this community?
I admire the focus on extending the role of a CIO beyond just technology. As CIOs, we influence how technology is perceived within our organisations and the value it brings. A community of CIOs committed to Mindful Leadership has the power to be a transformative movement.
